This is very sad.   For many on this thread you may not know who Dr. Dayhoff was.  Was a very committed doctor, researcher, writer and techie.   In the days of VDC's (Verification and Development Centers) which preceded the Field Offices in the VA, Dan Maloney (VDC Director in DC), Ruth, Peter Kuzmac, Stewart Frank and others worked tirelessly to make imaging a reality in every medical center.  In the days of small drives (1gig, and WORM drives), crummy networks, slow CPUs this was very challenging.   Here are just some of the papers she contributed to.

She made a big difference in those early days and that work is still in use today.   RIP.....

Ruth was one of those wonderful people in the MUMPS community who accomplish the most without caring about the
credit.  The obituary very well depicts who she was.  I don't see mentioned that she also edited the "MUG Quarterly" for
years.  If anyone has a back issue from the early '80's, check me on that.

We didn't deserve her, she was so good.  My condolences especially to Vince, her high-energy husband, who also helped out the
VistA effort more than once.

You are correct George, I have all the issues and I randomly pulled one off the shelf from August 1990 and Ruth is the editor.  Production: Dianne Barker, Ann Sprague
