I was sad to hear today that one of our great lab package programmers has passed away in February. This hit a bit close to home for me as I worked with him over January to February.

A colleague noticed that he wasn't responding to emails/calls, and decided to check the obituaries.

My deepest condolences to family and friends.

This greatly saddens me.  Frank was a prince of a man.  He helped we with VistA but I so enjoyed talking to him about being a volunteer search pilot, woodworking, fixing his sprinkler system, installing his backup generator system and all sorts of things.  For me, this was totally unexpected.  He survived a brutal bout with cancer years ago, but I doubt his death was related to that because he didn't mention it to me when we chatted and I do think he would have.

Frank was just a wonderful person all around.

I totally agree.
Frank was a strong leader and admirable in his chosen field and life.
I have known of and known him for at least 30 years.
His contribution to VistA has been integral to patient care and medical records inside and outside the VA

Best,
