Hi,

Anybody who has a  R&R Report 6 for DOS?  I need to update an old report.  I have R&R 12.6 and I can open the old report format but it can not be saved back and only allowed to be saved to the new version.

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,
Mario

I Liveware Publishing was talking about releasing the Source Code for R&R Windows, but as far as I know they haven't decided yet.

So I don't think we're allowed to share copies of 6.  I would do so, if I was sure it was ok.

Perhaps Vetusware or some other site has a copy.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for this info.  That would be great if they will decide to release the source code.  I'm sure a lot of xBase communities would benefit from this reporting tool.

Best regards,
Mario

They'll only release the windows source, if they release it.  They no longer have access to the dos version.

Hi Dan,

If this would be the case (releasing source code for the windows version), would there be interest in converting it to be cross platform.  Or at least a cross platform runtime like Report Manager.

Thanks,
Mario

That's  more of a question for the community at large.  Depends on their needs.

But at this point, we can build anything we want.  We don't have to settle for what's most popular or affordable.  We can build the tools that work exactly the way we individually want them to.  All we need is time, which will less as the the AIs become smarter.

Hi everyone

A little out of topic in this case.

In the vetusware site there is a file named SIX3.zip which I purchased many years ago (it is a rdd like comix).
If you open this zip file, there is a folder named SIXCLD which contains 6CLDSRC.ZIP,  which is password protected, its content is not visible because of that.

Does anyone know which password to use for opening that file?

Best regards

It's always fun talking about legacy software.  You're right, the filenames are available, but not the content.

SIXCLD.PRG

Not sure if I can help, but these guys seem to have it available, but really expensive.

If you can prove to them that you purchased it, maybe they can offer those files.

Emsps doesn't seem to have version 3, but maybe some of the source from earlier versions is similar

You might be able to try TheGrideonSoftware Zip Password app for decrypting legacy zip files.

I purchased comix way back, but am almost certain I didn't purchase the latter versions of the Six rdd.

The only other thing that comes to mind, is if you have any executables built from that library, or if you have the libs or obj files to build an executable, then you can use Valkyrie to recover some of the functions you're missing.

Also, perhaps some of the Harbour source might provide some clues.
