Thank you for an excellent 2-day virtual workshop. I am so pleased! There were just so many excellent presentations and discussions, I am thankful for all of your hard work and participation.

 

As you know, PDFs of the talks, the online question-answer doc, and workshop glossary are already available online. Over the next few weeks, Jason will be editing the videos so that we will have it available for the future.

You did an amazing job with others to put this together in such a short time. Everything went wonderful with no major glitches, and all the talks were really great and informative. It is one of the best conferences just like last year's.

Nathaniel,

Excellent job holding an online conference!   The more I reflect on it, I am able to see that typically hams are who you go to when all else fails (i.e. Jericho nuclear attack), and that is because of HF for long distance when the Internet is not there, however the table was turned this time.  This was an inverse apocalypse where we couldn't travel and embraced the Internet to make it happen--we communicated using the available technology.  The HamSCI community is at the tip of the spear for hams for sure!  This was one of the most important things to happen during this crisis. 

Thanks again to you and your moderators for holding an amazing conference!

Hi all,

  Congratulations to our intrepid leader for pulling off what seemed impossible in these uncertain times.  It was an experience I've never had before, and outstanding in every way.  The moderator team including especially Laura was tireless and right there with answers to questions large and small.  I hope the community takes good notice and uses it as a template for what can be done.

  Pete Juliano N6QW has a great statement that applies across the board here:  "Those who Know Stuff, can Do Stuff!"  Hams, and W2NAF most of all, had the Stuff and did it.  Very uplifting for all.  See you on the electromagnetic spectrum!  Let's keep it going.  We continue to have something rare and special here.

I guess the best compliment I can think of to pay to Nathaniel and the entire group is that I was sad this morning not be able to “tune in” to the conference. It was a pleasure both technically and content-wise to watch.   So well organized, so well run, and all of the presenters were so well prepared, and their material was uniformly interesting. Hello Nathaniel, I was only able to watch some of the presentations (including Rachel's) but what I saw went really well and was engrossing to the point of getting me into a bit of trouble with my wife who thought I should be doing something else (one of the hazards of a weekend workshop). Well done on getting this arranged on such short notice. I'm sure a lot of people appreciated the opportunity to attend a general meeting.

Thank you for the opportunity to attend. For a variety of reasons, the stars didn't align for me to attend in person (I'm holding out for next year!). However, this format WORKED. I was able to tune in, modulo a work teleconference, and I'm looking forward to more interactions with everyone. I learned things I'd never known, "met" people I need to interact with. I will likely have problems in the future with timing, as this comes up just as we normally kick into severe weather season, and my lab is trying to improve severe weather forecasts! While COVID-19 prevented an in-person conference, it also allowed me to listen and learn.

Nathanial, thank you for orchestrating this episode. It was incredible. To all the moderators, thank you for keeping things on-track and keeping the information flowing with questions, etc. I'll now offer that we need to do these more frequently as a less formal gig... any one up for weekly or monthly seminars?

And... The diversity of this group is pretty incredible. And increased since I first discovered it. The number of people, topics, and institutions/agencies represented is awesome.
