Is HAARP transmitting?

Is HAARP transmitting today (2110Z)? I'm hearing a very HAARP-like signal centered on 14801 kHz. Pulsed, otherwise unmodulated, 20 kHz wide, heard strongly from several west-coast SDRs (at least). But this is unusually high in frequency for them, and very little to nothing is heard from SDRs in Fairbanks and Anchorage. (This might make sense given the vertical radiation angle and the likely propagation).

A real-time status page would be really helpful.

Has HamSCI ever considered a cooperative project with them? Would any make sense?

They had a Summer School that ended the 14th but that is much higher than what they transmit at, so id be inclined to say no.

Best wishes,

All,

Definitely not a signal from the HAARP facility.
I am the long time Chief Engineer for the HAARP facility.
The large phased array HF transmitting system is only capable of transmitting from 2.8 MHz to 10 MHz in authorized band segments only.
Also, after the completion of the PARS summer school activity on August 5 thru 14, the HF transmit systems are not active.
There is currently some Phillystran guy assembly replacement activity going on in the HF antenna array at this time.
Definitely no RF radiation after 8/14, and definitely nothing possible above 10 MHz for the large IRI transmitting system.

Regards,
Steve

Thanks, Steve, I didn't think it was you guys simply from the too-high frequency, but the signal sure did look like one of yours. Lots of strange stuff on HF if you listen enough.

Phil, et all...

Sounds like somebody in the orchestra is playing 2nd HAARP,
kind of analogous to 2nd fiddle, but different.

Or, perhaps, we have discovered a new "long-delayed echo"
phenomenon.

In both cases, the out-of-range frequency remains to be explained.
Good luck, guys.

Dana
