Ethen Miller, K8GU and Nathaniel Frissell, W2NAF Receive Bill Orr Award for Technical Writing

The ARRL Foundation’s 2025 Bill Orr, W6SAI, Technical Writing Award has been awarded to Dr. Ethan Miller, K8GU, and Dr. Nathaniel A. Frissell, W2NAF, for their August 2025 QST article, “About Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances.”  Their article was prominently featured in that issue of QST, which featured HamSCI on the cover as well as in a special section.

One of HamSCI's three pillars is "Providing educational opportunities for the amateur community and the general public".  Great job, Ethan and Nathaniel, on making that pledge reality, through your writing in QST.

They join a long line of Bill Orr Award winners from the HamSCI Community, including Carl Luetzelschwab, K9LA; Eric Nichols, KL7JA; and Ward Silver, N0AX.
