Hello everyone,
I recently joined the group and would appreciate some advice.
My son has just completed 11th grade and is interested in physics and math. We are looking for a summer project that would allow him to build an instrument, collect data, and learn how to perform meaningful scientific analysis.
After reading through the HamSCI materials, we are currently considering:
1. GRAPE-1 DRF
2. Ground Magnetometer
For those with experience in these projects:
- Which would you recommend as a starting point?
- What kinds of data-analysis opportunities does each provide?
- Are there examples of student-led research projects using these data?
- Are there other HamSCI projects that might be especially suitable for a high-school student interested in physics?
Our goal is not only to get the hardware running, but also to contribute useful data and develop a small research project around it.
Thank you for any advice or suggestions.
