Doppler in the comics

When  reading this morning’s comics, and I spotted this panel…whose graphics are eerily similar to a GRAPE Doppler plot on an eclipse day.

Maybe it is time for one of those ‘virtual therapy visits’ my health insurer keeps suggesting to me!?! <grin>

You know, it looks even more similar to an amplitude plot of a VLF transmitter during solar flares. It has noticable shark fin features which resemble the shark fin rise and decay amplitude of a received VLF transmitter. The temporary increase in D layer ionization enhances (most of the time) propagation to create the rise and the recovery causes the decay. The example below is in the bottom stacked plot:
