Thank you for signing up to learn more about Stop Fitzhugh Concert Venue. The proposed 5,000-seat outdoor concert and entertainment venue has the potential to harm Barton Creek, bring traffic, noise and light pollution to nearby communities.
Top 5 things to know
1) Blizexas LLC has filed a municipal wastewater permit with the TCEQ to build an outdoor music venue off Fitzhugh Road. Although the TCEQ has issued deficiency notices to Blizexas, no decision has been made on the permit at this time.
2) The developers from California just released this schematic. The schematic was included in their Edwards Aquifer Contributing Zone Plan. As you can see, the planned venue is massive and more resembles a baseball stadium. Approximately 22.02 acres of impervious cover is planned (66.45% of the total project site).
3) If approved, Fitzhugh Concert Venue would put immense stress on the infrastructure in the area by increasing traffic exponentially, bringing damaging sound and light to our community.

There are no plans to improve Crumley or Fitzhugh to accommodate this development.
Hopefully the TCEQ will require that there be a large stormwater retention pond at the low end of property. But that will not likely provide adequate compensation for the 14+ acres of impervious cover.
Adding to the traffic/safety problems and pollution to Barton Creek, we also have late-night concert noise and light pollution.
The middle of an environmentally sensitive residential neighborhood is a ridiculous place to put a concert venue. But they chose the location in large part because it is not in any municipality, so there is minimal regulatory oversight.
