Hi Core,

Duncan from the NSBA is asking if we have any plans for events coming up, as well as if we want to pursue the outyard idea. He has interest from Jason and a land owner.

I could suggest some meeting times and a space for our members to have a get together and talk bee stuff, if our core has some availability coming up. For the outyard, I'm going to leave that discussion to the others since I'm kind of confused about it (sorry!).

Hope all is well with everyone!

Jillian

Hi Jillian,

Thanks for your email!  Last summer i asked if anybody would like to get together to discuss some of the ideas that came out of our meeting with Duncan, but nobody responded.  I'd like to get together for a convo about the out-yard.  I think we should explore this and sketch out some possibilities.  So it doesn't matter if any of you are confused about it...because we haven't actually talked about it yet :-)

Why don't we meet up before the end of November?  I'm happy to offer my place, if we want to meet in person.  But I could set up a Zoom, too.

Are weekends best for everyone?  Maybe a Saturday or Sunday early afternoon?

Cheers, Michelle

We could meet one evening, too, Lorraine.  Doesn't have to be a weekend.

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for offering your place as a meeting space! Do you want to keep it between the core team or should we invite our membership as well?

I am free Nov. 24-28th after 4:30pm (weekdays) and all day the Sat/Sun! Does one of those days works for everybody?

Sorry for the silence.  I have been quite busy a work.  I am on the examining committee for a PhD defence tomorrow.  Then heading to Toronto for a few days.

I did just submit my Doodle options.  Looking forward to meeting up...

Hello Everyone,
I was just on the extractor sign up sheet and I wondered if our wording is confusing for those signing up for the extractor and supplies.  It says 48 hours, does that mean that is the usual time to borrow?
Have we established a time limit for the extractor and supplies?  I thought it was 48hrs or a few days, which makes sense.
I am ok with a loan of 3-5 days if there are no other people wanting to borrow the item. Maybe during busy times a limit of 48 hours is fair.  At other times, 5 days seems reasonable, what do you all think?
What do you all think?
Thank you
Lorraine

I agree that this all sounds very reasonable.  Good suggestions, Lorraine.

BTW, the old extractor is still in my garage from after the honey extraction workshop.  If anyone else wants to host it for the winter, I would be fine with that.  If not, I will likely cover it and then move it to under my back deck, to free up space.
