Address change of director - DIR-6 for DIR-3 KYC Web which form to use

Dear Members,

we have been using form DIR-6 for change in address of directors. Now single KYC form is introduced w.e.f. 01.04.2026 on MCA V3 portal. This form also has option to update residential address of director.

So, basically now there are two forms for address change DIR-6 and DIR-3 KYC Web.

So, now which form should we file for address change keeping in view that no fees applicable on DIR-6 filing and Rs. 500/- challan needs to be paid if we opt DIR-3 KYC web filing.

please share your views.

Dir 3 kyc is a mandatory requirement which0 can't be undone.  Dir 6 is also mandatory as per rule 12 of companies appointment and qualification of directors rules 2014.  This is my view.

If the address change occurs during the KYC filing period i.e 1 st April to 30 th June,2026,file DIR 3 KYC.Otherwise,file DIR-6.
