Hi Paul, you are joking!
I’ve just spent a small fortune on it, having owned it for the last forty years, it now looks as good as new and I intend to keep it that way.
I know what you mean, but it will be used on bright sunny days only, and there are plenty of those here in Pretoria.
I intend to display it at the 100 year celebration taking place at our local Italian Club on the 14th March.
Cheers
Phil

Looks great Phil!
I do judge and like to see some evidence bikes are ridden but high on the list is ‘did the entrant clean the bike?’ I see that as a matter of respect not only for the judges but the viewing public. Patina is great but the display should be clean. Naturally
un-restored machines fit into different criteria.

Hi all,
It appears that restoring a motorcycle evokes many different views within the community.
I certainly have my own views on “trailer queens” that are pristine, without a trace of an oil leak or the smell of petrol vapour. To me these are just static works of art (beautiful they may be) and do not represent the machines as they were intended to be.
All of my restorations run, leak, and smell in varying degrees.
However they have been brought back to as near “as new” condition as I can manage at the tip of Africa.
Just to prove that the Super Alce does indeed run, here are some videos of the weekends activities.
If you are interested I’ll post some videos of the Cardellino 73 and Ercolino.
Cheers
Phil
