Do we have any MotoLeggera/Cardellino knowledge on board?
Kind of a simple question. I want to drain the transmission/gearbox be cannot see a drain plug. Does it drain through the lowest sidecase screw? It feels pretty tight so before forcing it I thought I should try to make sure it needs undoing.

This is a pretty little bike. If anyone sees me on Facebook you may have seen I’m doing some flood rescue work for a friend who got flooded New Year weekend.

TIA,

Rick

Answering myown question. Doing some investigation it looks like the side case has to come off to drain the oil. Checking service and user manuals I can’t find anything that I can translate into draining the gearbox. Looks like the cover comes straight off with the kick start and clutch mechanisms staying intact in the cover. Hopefully the screws come out without drama.

Hi Rick, you are correct. The oil is changed by removing the cover and tilting the bike. It is recommended that the engine is hot! It is also recommended that the casings are washed out with petrol to remove any sludge. Again, draining by tipping to the right. Replace the cover and remove the level screw below the filler. Fill with SAE 40 to the level screw hole. Replace the screw and you are ready for another 10000kms. Cheers Phil
