Hi, folks.  I'm new to the group, and wanted to introduce myself.

I live on Vancouver Island, BC, and have been an (mostly) exclusive Guzzi rider for the past 15 years.   I recently acquired a 1961 Galletto from the estate of a friend who passed away a few months ago.  It was a bittersweet purchase, as I have always wanted one of these, and had many great conversations with my friend about these little gems, but never foresaw that it would be his Galletto that would eventually make it's way into my care.  Still, I'm happy to have it, and look forward to spending time resurrecting it, as it has been in storage for many years.

As I have never owned a Galletto (or any Guzzi single, for that matter), I'm trying to learn more about these lovely little machines, and it was recommended that I join this group.  I received quite a decent set of manuals (user, service, parts) with the bike, but, in my experience, nothing beats being exposed to a group of owners and suppliers who are actively working on and maintaining these bikes on a daily basis.

Looking forward to participating and learning as I go along.

Thanks,
Shaun

That year should be a 192cc. Possibly with electric start too

Thanks, Tim.

Yes, this is a 192 with electric start.  It would be nice if it still had a kicker, as well, but hopefully this will work well.  I have heard that the starters are not the most durable on these.

Are we able to attach photos in this group?  I tried, but I got a message indicating that my message was too long.

Cheers,
Shaun

Welcome to the group and congratulations for acquiring Dave's Galletto. I do not have any experience with this particular model, but if it is as robust and simple to its big brothers Airone and Falcone, it should give you lots of reliable service.

Ciao, Alan in Roberts Creek

Be sure to attend our annual get together, the Moto Giro D'Costa Del Sole on Sept. 7. Last year we had 75 bikes and 100 people for kicking tires, telling lies and scarfing down bacon butties.

Hi Shawn,

Yes, you can attach photos to the group. It's likely your photo was too big. Google limits the size of a pic to 25MB.

Depending on what you're using, you might be able to resize it when you try to attach the pic or you might have to do it "by hand" - meaning resize a copy of it. That usually entails "Save As.." then adjusting the size, then attaching the newly saved file. The size should be under 1,000 pixels wide, the format should be PNG or JPG as those formats also let you control the compression factor which in turn will affect the file size as well.

Ciao!

Thanks, Miles.  I suspected file size might be an issue.  Will try again later.

Cheers,
Shaun
