JAVA updates and compatibility with GSEA

Please forgive my ignorance on this issue. I am using GSEA 4.1.0 on a Windows 10 PC. It works great!

However, my PC notifications keep wanting me to update my JAVA software. I am currently using Version 8 Update 211 (build 1.8.0_211_b12).

Will updating the JAVA software on my PC cause conflict or affect my ability to run GSEA?

Hi Geoff,

 

GSEA used to be dependent on the system java version, but as of the 4.x releases it uses a bundled version of OpenJDK.

Updating your system Java version should have no impact on the GSEA application.
