Hi,

Two of core developers of Alluxio open source project recently posted a tech article documenting our
RPC framework migration from Apache thrift to gRPC, including the motivation, lessons
and performance tuning tips.
https://www.alluxio.com/blog/moving-from-apache-thrift-to-grpc-a-perspective-from-alluxio

I'm posting the link here and hope it helpful to other potential gRPC users.
Meanwhile, we've also listed open problems like supporting zero-copies and etc as in the article.
Hopefully, this can be some useful input to gRPC project too.

Thanks again for the community support from gRPC!

Thank you, it is interesting indeed.

Would you be able to expand on these bullet points you have a the end? In particular, I would be interested in "Use multiple channels for maximum throughput" - how you managed to open one more channel,  and "Implement zero-copy"

Thank you very much!
