why was onReady call removed when there's a streaming connection?

i wasd relying on it, to know when the channel is connected and i was surprised to discover it was removed in 1.23

it is for performance optimization. you may find discussion in the original PR useful. it shouldn't affect users, and i am not sure how it can affect you. 

can you explain in more detail?
