gRPC user forum

Esteemed gRPC users,

We want to try out a new interaction forum between gRPC team and gRPC users and community via gRPC user forum. The goal with gRPC user forum is:

• Allow for regular free form interactions between gRPC user community and gRPC team at Google.
• help RPC team to understand user issues and get first hand user feedback.
• gRPC users to get a face-to-face channel to ask questions to gRPC team.
• foster community among gRPC users

Policy

1. Will be held bi-weekly over hangouts

2. Hangout link will be: grpc-user-forum.

3. If you want to discuss an issue you are having, please have a github issue before hand. It is hard and inefficient to discuss a brand new issue in this forum.
   

Agenda

1. Will be crowdsourced. Please add to agenda doc here at least a day in advance of the meeting.

2. Items added after that will be taken up in the following meeting

3. First meeting will be 6/16 at 11 AM PDT

4. Notes from meeting will be published on gRPC site and sent around on grp...@googlegroups.com

5. If these turn out to be really valuable, we will start recording these sessions as well.

Call claims to be full atm. I'm mainly interested in spectating atm, perhaps this could be broadcast live into youtube? Is there a backchannel available (irc?)?

I hoped into #grpc IRC and got confirmation the call appears to be full. There doesn't appear to be willingness or the capability to share this call with more than the 30 people who got lucky & joined first, atm. :( :( :( I'm very sad I wont get to hear people talking through their gRPC issues this time around!!!!!!

Hi Morgaine, 

I think that we are figuring this out as we go along! Apologies for the inconvenience here but this limitation was unplanned for. 

For the next user forum, we will definitely have a 'listen only mode' that can be widely broadcasted and a more formal Q&A medium.
