It is with great sadness that we have to bring you the news of the passing of our friend Sharon Bishop. Sharon passed away unexpectedly at the very end of December.

Sharon‘s love for the Leonberger breed is well known. From her first Leo, Addie, in the early 2000’s, to Blu and beloved rescue Betty, from graceful Echo to Jazz, Gideon, and My Joy, Sharon was a partner, an advocate, and a breeder. Sharon enjoyed traveling to regional shows in the Pacific Northwest and many LCA National Specialties.

Sharon’s passion for the breed led her to volunteer many hours with NCLC and with the Leonberger Health Foundation (LHFI). She served as a delegate to the International Leonberger Union.

She was tenacious, generous, encouraging, kind and a great friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Leonberger Health Foundation International or Leo Rescue Pals.

Such sad news. Junko and I are glad we got to see her at the last NCLC show.
