Note: Election Commission's Press Note of March 18, 2025 for linking 10 digit Voter ID Number with 12 digit Unique Identification(UID)/Aadhaar Number is linked to "Strategic Vision: Unique Identification of Residents" prepared by Wipro Ltd envisaged  linkage with electoral database. 

Donor driven merger of Aadhaar Number database with all existing databases including Voter ID Number database is related to the proposal of One Nation, One Election. The latter is proposed by donors but opposed by over 15 parties.
