HIL eyes $1b revenues as it transforms to an integrated green building materials company
Will Asbestos Cement Products Manufacturers Association & Ramco company learn from Telangana based Hyderabad Industries Ltd (HIL)'s decision to move in asbestos free direction. HIL faced resistance against proposed Asbestos plant at Kumarbagh, West Champaran, Bihar.
First Schedule of Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code,2020 refers to Industries involving hazardous processes including manufacture,handling & processing of Asbestos & its products, its Third Schedule lists incurable Asbestosis as a Notifiable Disease.
No private or public building or water supply pipe is asbestos free in India.
It is estimated that 50,000 Indians are dying every year because of asbestos related diseases. NHRC seized with asbestos laden talcum powder case since 8th June 2021.
