[Moitra, no doubt, is a political climber. 

From the elite-privileged class. 

Educated, smart and highly articulate.

That's how it is.

In the process, she picked up quite a few right causes.

The first time she came to public notice is when she filed a case in the Supreme Court against state surveillance of communications over the net (ref.: <https://www.herzindagi.com/society-culture/mahua-moitra-fighting-for-invasion-of-privacy-by-govt-on-social-media-article-94020>).

At that time, she was only an MLA from some West Bengal backyard and that too from the TMC -- with too few educated in its ranks.

Then she sparkled with her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha: <https://youtu.be/6CpOyP_7NGk>. And she hardly ever failed to arouse admiration whenever she would open her mouth in the parliament.

However, what has attracted maximum limelight is her gritty, arduous and skilful campaign against Gautam Adani -- his corporate empire -- which has seen a meteoric rise under the Modi regime with its very visible and interventionist backing, blatantly breaching all bounds of propriety.

That's politically too significant.

As an aside, Darshan Hiranandani and she got to know each other in 2017 when she was still an MLA and had nothing to do with Adani. (Ref.: <https://www.telegraphindia.com/india/authored-many-questions-relating-to-adani-group-that-mahua-moitra-raised-in-lok-sabha-darshan-hiranandani/cid/1974455>.)

Both have publicly acknowledged each other as a "friend".

There's hardly anything extraordinary about obtaining helps from a "friend" and a female "friend", in particular, receiving expensive "gifts" from a super-rich male.

Incidentally, we do not even really know which specific parliamentary questions put by her were cash-worthy from Hiranandani's point of view and how. There's hardly any talk on the specifics.

This write-up below is obviously just yet another ugly campaign piece against her by the Adani camp in a publication acquired by him not too long ago.]
