This, obviously unrehearsed, talk, as it appears, provides a vital clue as to why this out-of-the-blue decision to install a statue of Netaji - with the statue itself nowhere in sight. In fact, there's no report to the effect that anybody is even making that statue!

It's, plausibly, a brainwave meant to tackle the adverse public reaction - in Bengal in particular, to the summary rejection of the tableau from Bengal - presenting the contributions of the celebrated freedom fighters from the state including Netaji, for the Republic Day gala event in the national capital.
