Too eloquently.

When sometime back, the issue of weaponising the ED was taken to the Supreme Court, it refused to touch it even with a barge pole (ref.: <https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/setback-for-opposition-in-supreme-court-over-misuse-of-central-agencies-3922536/amp/1>).

Had it instead *just* asked for an affidavit by the ED/Government to provide (i) the total number of cases it's following, (ii) the total number of cases against the acknowledged critics/opponents of the regime and, most importantly, the details of the trajectories of the cases against those who have crossed over, at that point of time, it would, most likely, have had a salutary effect on the probe agency.

But, alas!
