SDOT drop-in session re: N 130th between Stone Way and Greenwood

I went to SDOT's drop-in session regarding the safety improvement project on N 130th between Stone Way N and Greenwood Ave N. A key takeaway: they're going to use the same concrete material used for the 4th Ave PBL for this project, too. Another positive news is that the flex posts used on N 130th between 1st Ave NE and Stone Way N are temporary and will eventually be replaced with the same type of concrete curb.

FWIW I rode from Pinehurst all the way to Bitter Lake Community Centre, where the session occurred, directly on the 130th/125th corridor. There are missing links, but it's a LOT more direct than having to zig zag my way.

Thanks for the update on this project. I hadn’t realized the safety improvements on 130th were going all the way to Greenwood. Do you know if they’re doing anything to help cyclists making turns between 130th and the Interurban?

Hi Rich.

I didn't ask them about intersection improvements. I should have! The project page doesn't list any intersection improvements, including the one at N 130th and Linden Ave N. Turning northbound from eastbound 130th is probably the trickiest. My guess is that they'll install a bike box for a two-stage turn.
