Hi,

When starting up gqrx from the command line, I discovered that there is a Band Plan file. What is this used for? I have searched both google and this group, and have not learned anything. Is this something which appears in the waterfall? If yes, how do I turn it on? Please advise and 73,

Output to stdout:

pi@hampi:~/.config/gqrx $ gqrx
gr-osmosdr 0.1.4 (0.1.4) gnuradio 3.7.13.4
built-in source types: file osmosdr fcd rtl rtl_tcp uhd miri hackrf bladerf rfspace airspy airspyhf soapy redpitaya freesrp
Resampling audio 96000 -> 48000
BandPlanFile is /home/pi/.config/gqrx/bandplan.csv
BookmarksFile is /home/pi/.config/gqrx/bookmarks.csv

pi@hampi:~/.config/gqrx $ ls -l
total 16

It's a CSV file, so you can bring it up in any spreadsheet program (gnumeric, Libre Office Calc, etc) or even a text editor (vim, nano).

It is as it says, a band plan file.

It helps gqrx know if a frequency is in a given radio band.

As per the news.txt file we have:

2.14: Released November 19, 2020
NEW: Start/stop DSP via remote control.
NEW: Device scan button in Configure I/O devices dialog.
NEW: Added "Recent settings" menu.
NEW: Added synchronous AM demodulator.
NEW: Added band plan to bottom of FFT.
NEW: Added support for DX cluster.
NEW: Added "F" shortcut to select the frequency controller.
FIXED: PortAudio detection on MacOS.
FIXED: Crash when closing AFSK1200 decoder.
IMPROVED: Make axes take precedence over demod box in plotter.

So it was added recently.

Regards,
RDP

HI,

Very interesting. I'm using the MacPorts port of GQRX (latest build 2.14.4). Can I access to this feature? If yes, where should I move this "bandplan.csv" file?

Many thanks

Andy
