Hi all,
Today I pushed a new beta release to Google Play, v3.6.0:

For the OSM Droid (pure OSS) version, you can download the APK from the release notes at https://github.com/barbeau/gpstest/releases/tag/v3.6.0 or wait for the new build to show up in F-Droid at:

Main new feature in this release is that time is now highlighted in red on devices with wrong times due to the GPS week rollover issue (http://bit.ly/gps-week-rollover). You can tap on the time for details too.

Full release notes at:

Feedback welcome!

Thanks,
Sean

Good question - I've opened this issue to see if I can backport this feature to API 14:

Two new beta releases are now rolling out on Google Play:
I'd appreciate testing and feedback on these two versions, especially if you have an older API 14-17 (Android 4.0 to Android 4.2.2) device to make sure nothing went wrong in these releases!

I'm not sure how F-Droid treats multiple releases across API levels, so if you don't see these versions via F-Droid you can download the osm-droid APKs from the above URLs.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,

i have test the 3.2.12 into my old device
www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_neo_v-4122.php

it seems to works OK. When the time is red , i press on it and a new window appears. There, we can see the date and time. There is underline only the year and the 2 digits of the time - hours. Is this OK ?

when the receiver is ON, the window shows year 2000. when i close the receiver and press into the red time (now there only one small - fat line), i see year 1970. Why there is 30 year offset?

Lodro,
Thanks! Could you share screenshots for what you're describing?

Lodro,
Thanks for sharing!

I'll fix those two items:
  1. The year and time in the dialog wasn't intended to be underlined - Android was trying to hyperlink these numbers by mistake. I'll limit the hyperlinking to URLs only, which should fix this.
  2. When you turn off GNSS via the switch, the red bubble shouldn't be visible, and therefore you shouldn't be able to tap on it (the 1970 date is just the default). I'll make sure this disappears when the switch is turned off.

Other than those two items, though, it looks good!

Lodro (or another user impacted by GPS week rollover),
Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the updated Status screen, and what you see when tapping on the red time bubble?

I'd like to use the screenshot in documentation for the feature on-line.

Thanks,
Sean
