I realize this is not the proper place for me to respond, but I'm stuck doing all my data entry on smartphones. If I was home with my laptop I would be generating a new subject and entering it, but I do not understand the system well enough to accomplish that with a smartphone. Long ago I noticed that there seem to be a problem entering new messages with smartphones. I very much wish someone would move this message to a new subject.
Here is the issue. Many months ago, I bought a used phone, and Asus Zenfone 8 flip, which I bought on the strength of the listing on the database that it supported gps, galileo, baidu, and glonass. It also had micro SD card support, which has become increasingly rare in the last 4 years.
However, when I received it I could see that it did everything except Beidou.
I suspect that this device is somehow geofenced to prevent it from using Baidu when physically within the United States of America. I can understand to some extent why this might be true: Asus is a Taiwanese company, and of course Baidu is red China. I suspect that the Taiwan people do not want Americans to be able to use Baidu.
The problem is that I specifically bought the Asus Zenfone 8 flip device precisely because it was going to support as many gnss signals as I could, and one of the newest set are Baidu.
I went back and forth with Asus months ago with no good result. I thought of an idea of finding somebody with a gnss simulator to make it look like the phone was somewhere other than America, but I would imagine such devices are very rare.
It is very frustrating to read on the database that the device should have implemented beidou, but then when I finally get it I discovered that it isn't. I understand, nevertheless it is still frustrating. I'm assuming that there is some sort of developer option that can be brought into play, but in my current location and with my current limited understanding I cannot implement this solution.
Thank you very much for any help you can give me.
