I've never done a restore before, and it's not working for me.

I'm running GYB version 1.62. I am a Google Cloud Enterprise admin.

I have an intern who left for school last August, and I archived his emails using GYB.

He is returning for the summer as an employee again. I want to restore his archived emails to his recreated Gmail account.

I ran the following:

gyb --email first...@emsibg.com --action restore --local-folder "GYB-GMail-Bac...@emsibg.com"

I am prompted to enter my verification code into the browser window. After I do so with my domain admin account, I get the following error message:

Error: you did not authorize the OAuth token in the browser with the first...@emsibg.com Google Account. Please make sure you are logged in to the correct account when authorizing the token in the browser.

"No one runs untested code on a network server, for the code may crash and take down the server.
Likewise, no one puts old format data files into new databases.
The new database will be corrupted, and the data will be lost.
No, you put new-format data into new databases."

You can't authorize GYB as one user (even a super admin) and use that to access another user Gmail account. Your choices are to either:

1) authorize as the actual user who's mailbox you wish to restore to.

2) add --service-account and use Domain -wide delegation.

Jay,

Thanks so very much. Adding  --service-account worked like a champ.

best,
Dale
