Add Google Map view to Custom Map View?

Based on the discussion here, https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-visualization-api/KVGu--jjUpk, I have custom provinces showing in my GeoChart.

However, the map looks a bit bland, and doesn't show any place names, roads etc etc.

Is there a way for me to add in a "map view" into my JS file (the JSON object that defines the provinces) so there is a background map layer?
