This lack of response is getting ridiculous!

For "how-to" stuff contact Google Support. You can talk with them by phone - there's an option for them to call you.
If it's a glitch in the program, you need to use the feedback option. You can add a screenshot and even highlight the problem area.
FYI - last night Google did fix the problems with the mouse hover and being able to edit charts without having everything go back to default.
Last time I checked they still had not fixed the sum across sheets formula problem. I sent them another feedback with a screenshot. Hopefully they will fix that soon as well.
