Map chart showLine requires lineWeight

Apparently, and contrary to what the documentation (https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/map#configuration-options) says, it appears that one must specify lineWeight in order to get a google.visualization.Map chart to draw a polyLine between points when showLine=true.

It was pointed out to me that, according to the docs, lineWidth is the "correct" property, but that does not work:
