Hi,

we are using Google timeline charts on our website. In the charts we use many valuable keywords, which aren't used anywhere else on the site. By following the tutorials on the official websites (https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/timeline), these keywords are "invisible" to all search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) and are not indexed.

Is there a way to make keywords used in the charts indexable?
If not, what is the recommended workaroud to make it so? Using them in <noscript> tags or in invisible elements is penalized by most search engines.

Thanks.

Hi Michal,

That's a great question!  I'll research and report back.

The question of the indexability and searchability of Google Charts by Google's Googlebot and the other search engines is very relevant.  I haven't been able to find any info on this topic.  What are developers doing to get the keywords (Title, axis labels, etc) in their Google Charts noticed by the search engines?

We should add the text of titles and text data values displayed in the chart to accessibility elements that we already use.  I'm not sure if that helps with making this text indexable.
