Monitoring agent installation error

Hi team.

I'm struggling to install monitoring & logging agents as below screenshot.

I've checked the role of the service account and Cloud API access scopes and tried to troubleshoot based on the troubleshooting doc, but I couldn't fix it.

collectd[2942]: write_gcm: Unsuccessful HTTP request 403: {#012  "error": {#012    "code": 403,#012    "message": "Permission denied (or the resource may not exist).",#012    "status": "PERMISSION_DENIED"#012  }#012}

collectd[2942]: write_gcm: Error -2 from wg_curl_get_or_post

collectd[2942]: write_gcm: wg_transmit_unique_segment failed.

collectd[2942]: write_gcm: wg_transmit_unique_segments failed. Flushing.

Any ideas how to fix or what API or other things to enable?

Hi, Jaehan,

A 403 indicates that the agent doesn't have sufficient privileges to write to the API. More details on the necessary permissions and authorization setup are on this documentation page.

You say that the troubleshooting instructions didn't help. Does that include the steps for verifying credentials and scopes?

At this point, without further details, my only thought is to check that the Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging APIs are enabled in the project. If those are enabled, then we would need to investigate your setup. It's best to share that off-list. Can you please open an issue?
