I'm also having this problem. This seemed to break just recently.

Hi everyone, I can't reproduce this problem. Are you still having
these issues?

Hi Karolina. Yes, I'm still experiencing this problem. Here's some of
the things I've tried:

1. Copy a small number of transactions (5) from my 'master'
transaction list to a new CSV file and upload this file.
2. Use the same file as in scenario 1, but remove all unused columns
(normally marked 'other') from the CSV file.
3. Create a new portfolio and upload the file from scenario 2.
4. Manually add a single transaction to a new portfolio, download this
transaction to a CSV file, and upload this file to a different new
portfolio. (to ensure the uploaded file is an unaltered file from
Google Finance)

None of the above scenarios produced the expected results in my
portfolios. Each scenario works the same way, every time:

1. Click the 'Import Transactions' link from within a portfolio.
2. Browse to the CSV file and click 'Preview Import'.
3. After assigning the correct column headings, click 'Import'.
4. I'm brought back to the portfolio screen where I expected to see
the transactions. However, the portfolio is still empty and the text
"Successfully imported portfolio." is displayed below the line where I
can manually add a symbol to the portfolio.

Clearly something is not working correctly. I've also tried this on
multiple computers, in different browsers. It doesn't seem to be a
client-side issue. Please contact me if you are still unable to
reproduce the issue, thanks!

I just tried this again today. Using Google Chrome works, but using
IE8 does not work.

Thanks! Worked w/ Chrome for me also but not IE9. It probably makes sense
to use Google's browser w/ their stuff.

This is still broken in Internet Explorer. Is the Google Finance team
investigating this??

Thank you all for the additional details; I've passed this on to our
developers.
It looks like the interim workaround is to use Chrome; sorry for the
inconvenience.

I am finding it does not work with Google Chrome either! It always
says import was successful, but there is never any data imported.

This is still the issue. I am using Google Chrome and it still is not uploading my transaction files.

The import function broke down for a while now. I reported the problem about a week ago. Apparently it's not an easy problem to solve.

Please fix this feature. It used to also accept TXT file for import. That no longer exists. This change possibly holds key to new failure of uploads. This problem cropped up between 1/24/14-2/1/14

This is getting old I guess Google doesn't care about folks that invest in their advertisers. This has been ongoing for weeks now. Seems simple enough. Restore to a point that worked. But they seem to ignore the problem.

I am also not able to upload csv over the last week. Last month however it did work when uploading transactions through csv file. Now when importing and clicking on preview no preview is shown and if you import anyway it will mention 'successfully imported' ...

I would appreciate if this could be fixed urgently.

Google import transactions funtionality doesn't work
I moved my portfolio from Yahoo to Google because of data quality issues with Yahoo
The reason for it no longer working is unfathomable, one would think the fix is simple enough, so - conspiracy theorists - what is really going on here?

Please fix this!  When I try to import I browse to my CSV and hit preview, but the columns never appear for me to correct.  If I hit import, it says it was successful but nothing has changed and my portfolio is still empty.  Highly annoying.

I had reported the same problem about one month ago. Too bad nothing got Google's attention. It's really a function that distinguished it from other free portfolio managers on other sites.
I really hope Google QA people do a better job in next build, so the whole subsystem will not fail so miseably!!!!!

I had the same experience today.
I tried to import .csv files to a new portfolio. Nothing was displayed after I hit Preview. I then hit Import, got "Successfully imported portfolio" displayed on the screen but nothing was shown in the portfolio.

Yes, this problem still seems to persist (as of Feb 28, 2014). Tried several different data imports with several different CSV file types and sizes. Still a blank screen after clicking "Preview Import," and the portfolio remains empty after seemingly successfully "importing" something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same problem.  I import transactions and click preview import but nothing shows up to preview so I just click import and it says it was successful but nothing gets imported.

Unable to import from CSV.

Occurs in both Chrome and Firefox.

Not limited to a specific investment account.

This is still not working.

To check whether it was an issue with my input file format, I exported the Google portfolio, and tried to reimport.

Same issue -- import list is blank.
