MySQL Not Updated in 3 years (5.7.14)

Is this product being supported anymore? Google hasn't updated this product in 3 years now. 5.7.14 contains several bugs that drastically effect performance.

We can't wait anymore on years of empty promises. We'd appreciate an official statement on this matter. Please do not post a link to the 3 year old feature request.

Hello Blake,

Thank you for your request. I have asked the Cloud SQL Specialists to make an official announcement to look into possible updating the version of MySQL currently offered by Google Cloud Platform.

You may follow the progress here but please note there is no ETA nor guarantee that it will be implemented.

I'll donate $5,000 to charity if this get's updated in two weeks...alas this is only but another empty Cloud SQL promise
