Backups - what if we need to retrieve an older version of a specific schema?

An important question was just brought to my attention

Given a software-as-a-service model, with each customer having their own schema on the MySQL server,

Suppose a customer deleted some records by mistake, and needs us to recover the records from a version of their schema from, say, two months earlier. What do we need to have in place, in order to make that happen, and what facilities does Google have for that purpose.

Cloud SQL backups will allow you to recover lost data or recover from a problem with your instance. You can schedule automatic backups which are pre-scheduled backups which are created at specific intervals or on-demand backups which you can create at any time. If you schedule an automatic or complete an on-demand backup prior to your customer's record deletion you can recover it using these methods.
