Cloud SQL replication to local database

Hi,

Can someone please help me setup a replication between a local mysql instance (master) and cloud sql (slave)? I have issues opening the port on my local machine and would like to use the cloudsqlproxy. I tried to follow the google documentation, but had no luck. I am using a 5.7 instance locally on a windows machine.

Hi Jolene,

Clould SQL proxy is available for second generation instances. At the same time, the documentation states that part of the external master requirements is the use of a Cloud SQL first generation instance.  You will not be able to use Cloud Proxy for this particular case. You might want to consider other replication options scenarios where a second generation instance can be used.
