issue with cloudsql closing the connection unexpectedly error

Hello.

At times, a cloud function will fail due to the following error:

server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.

This can happen with different cloud functions (in Python) and it's random. Sometimes I'll go a week without an error and other times it can happen several times within a 24 hour period. It's not like the cloud function is taking a long time to run, sometimes only a few seconds. Most of the time the functions work great so I know it's not a security or service permission error. Also, when this occurs, there's no consistent time of day so it's not like a backup or other system maintenance was being performed.

If anyone has any suggestions about what to do or how to handle, I would appreciate it.

Hello Rhys,

It appears to me that you have an issue with Cloud Functions. The best way to handle this is to open an Issue Tracker, where we may mark your request as private to share project information.

I did that and they came back and said that they can't determine anything. Since it only happens once in a while and there is no consistent pattern, that it's just one of those things. I was hoping someone else had seen this and had a suggestion.
