Hi

binary logging is needed to allow read replicas and point-in-time recovery.
i know it was also needed for failover replicas.

considering we are not using the legacy HA mode, and want to enable the HA feature which creates a standby instance to our SQL primary instance,
does the binary logging still needed?

thanks
Chen

Hi Chen,

As noted in "Enabling and disabling high availability on an instance" document, it is needed. Feel free to raise a feature request in the Issue Tracker so that the Cloud SQL product team will be informed about your request; however, there is no guarantee for the implementation.
