Get Existing Elected Officials

I know the API has election data, but if there was a way to save results and then show their current officials that would solve a problem I have. Do you know if the data will be open and publicly accessible, specifically, available for download and reuse?

I’ve seen similar efforts move toward paid tiers or more limited access over time, which can make sense, but there’s a lot of value if this ends up being broadly usable given how many paid data sources already exist.
