Hi all,

I don't know about anybody else but ever since this second console window was added to developer tools it has been a pain in the neck. I do not want or need two console windows. There is a perfectly acceptable console tab. If I'm in the network tab checking responses I do not want the console tab to popup.

I've searched high and low and Googled this issue and there are no solutions for disabling this stupid feature.

Apologies for the annoyance in my post but enough is enough, give us the option to disable this.

Kind regards,
Tim

Can you post a screenshot?
The console drawer has an X button to its right that closes it, so I guess you refer to a different console.

Thanks for bringing this pain point into light. The wording around this is not very descriptive, but we (devtools team) call it the "drawer" which is not very descriptive and in a few places we may refer to it as "console". The major thing to note here is that the escape key on the keyboard will cascade eventually to the drawer to hide and reveal it. Although it may not be useful to you, it is considered a vital part of many debugging workflows, especially for Javascript debugging and DOM/Layout debugging.
