Hello

So I updated chrome to newest version (52.0.2743.116 m), and now devTools is not working like it did.
When I select an element (e.g. <body> tag) and refresh the page, the element is not selected anymore. I am not talking about dynamic elements. Any element.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thank you

First, a new version was just released - Chrome 53. Try updating your Chrome by going to chrome:chrome (or About Google Chrome). and see if it is fixed.
Second (in case the issue persists), please, supply a test page that reproduces the issue. I just tested two static websites (using Chrome 52) and refreshing the page kept my previous element selected.

I've upgraded to Version 53.0.2785.101 (64-bit) on OSX 10.11.2 and this problem still persists. I tested the following out on http://images.google.com :

2) Right click the logo and click 'inspect element' to see it selected in the elements panel of the devtools
3) Pressed CMD + R to refresh the page
4) After refresh, in the elements panel of the devtools, the selected element becomes the <html> element and not the one selected in step 2.

How can this be fixed? I really miss being able to have the same element selected in the elements panel after a page refresh.

You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.
