Did you see "Wow! This doc has changed a lot. To sync to the latest version, reload" issue?

 Hi!

The user from there catched a strange issue.

Did you see same one?

I’ve seen it before. Had some doc open for a long time while someone made a bunch of changes.

What I imagine it is, is that whatever engine google uses for locally managing the differences between local state and server state, won’t have enough memory to update the normal way. So instead of attempting a sync operation that it knows won’t complete, it just prompts the user to reload so the update will happen the long way. No idea if that’s accurate or not.

Thank you Adam!

It has logic. It may be the main reason.

Also I've asked the user to send us files from the project. It would be helpful if we can reproduce the issue.
