Does time-triggered functions run when I am offline?

Hi all, 

Probably a silly question. If I create a time-trigger to run a function which updates my spreadsheet every hour, and then I close the spreadsheet and shut down my laptop (Basically go offline completely), will the time-triggered function still run and I would see my spreadsheet updated when I reopen my spreadsheet the next day?

Yes, it does. The code runs on the Google cloud servers remotely. It does not run on your laptop.

Yes agree with Sharanya - and also - it runs as the person that you are logged in as and set up the trigger. If it's a mission critical trigger and needs to continue to run after you have left the company and your google account it closed, consider creating a google account that will not be removed to create it (and probably own the sheet too)
