Getting User Rate Limit Error

Hi Team,

I am trying to run the below command, but after reaching 44K getting user rate limit error, how to overcome this problem.

                    gam all user show imap > userimapstatus.csv

Interesting that the API is now returning a "retry after" time. How far in the future is that time it's saying to try after? (Note that it's universal timezone that it's showing)

Hi Jay,

Even I tried it pausing every day after 2 to 4 hours and continue next day, like that 3 days, even I am getting same error.

If I run continuously one day also getting same error.

Using gam adv xtd3 version 6.04.04

So one thing is you seem to be running the command for a lot of users that don't actually have Gmail service enabled. Can you reduce the users you are running the command against to just users with Gmail service enabled?

It depends how you are enabling / disabling Gmail service for users. In an ideal world you'd be enabling the service by group membership and then instead of running "gam all users ..." you'd run "gam group svc-gmail show imap" or whatever..

Since you are using GAMADV-XTD3, there are a few ways to do it instead of all users

For example, if you had Enterprise Plus licenses assigned to your users who also have Gmail enabled

gam license enterprise show imap

If you use OU or groups to turn services on/off, you can use other collections of users.

AAAAAHHHHH, I've seen this twice now!

Brian, I see that you are using the license option to produce a list of users. That's brilliant! :-)

Just wish it was possible to print users with their licences, so I could use filtering. Sadly, license isn't a user attribute.
