Checking Group Status

Hey all, 

Is it possible to use GAM to confirm whether a set of groups are still active? We have a list of groups that need to be verified, and it'd be great if we didn't have to manually do this. 

Is it possible to have a .csv of the groups, the use GAM to parse these and confirm whether they exist.

Sadly Google doesn't provide that information.  The best you could do would be to scan the group members email to see if anyone has received a message from the group.  Something like this might work:

> gam groups theg...@example.com print messages query "in:inbox" max_to_print 1

Ok. that only gets the first message in a member's inbox.

Replace "From:"  with "to:"

Is the question whether the group exists or whether the group is being used?

This will identify groups that don't exist.

gam redirect stdout ./GroupsThatExist.txt redirect stderr ./NonexistantGroups.txt info groups csvfile groups.csv:email endcsv fields name quick nouser

The question is whether the groups exist and are actively being used - should've been clearer when I first typed it out.
