Hello,

I have GAM 3.72 and am trying to add a forwarding address for a user.

When I run the 'add forwarding address' command, I am getting the error below:
    User: <user.name>@pwc.com, Does not Exist
(where <user.name> is the actual user's name)

The user DOES indeed exist and is active in the Google Admin Console.  Even after trying with other users, I get the same error.

Please advise.

Thanks!

GAM 3.7+ uses the new Gmail Settings API for these settings. You need to authorize your service account to make these changes. Run through the steps at:

https://github.com/jay0lee/GAM/wiki/CreatingClientSecretsFile#authorize-the-api-scopes-for-use-with-gam-in-the-admin-console

Have another problem with forwarding. Not if its related to the same:

$ gam user USERNAME forward on ANOTHERUSER@DOMAIN.com keep
User: USERNAME, Forward Enabled: True, Forwarding Address: ANOTHERUSER@DOMAIN.com, Action: leaveInInbox (1/1)

ERROR
: 400: Unrecognized forwarding address - failedPrecondition

BTW: Did already the re-authorization.

Thanks
Kay

Kay,

Authorization is good (just checking).
You can't forward to someone until they're set up as a forwarding address.
Have you done: gam user USERNAME add forwardingaddress ANOTH...@DOMAIN.COM
You can see forwarding addresses like this: gam user USERNAME show forwardingaddresses

Yes :-)
It makes sense first to add an address before enabling the forwarding. But that might have changed, because I think it was working without that extra step before.

Thank you very much.

Kay,

If you add a forwarding address in Gmail settings, then you can enable it with gam without having to add it with gam.
