Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to a way to find the Looker Studio Report owner ,i have the AssetID and the name , i know that there is a command to print permissions but the problem i don't know who is the editors nor the owner of this asset:

Try this:

gam report datastudio filter "ASSET_ID==PutAssetIDhere"

Look in OWNER_EMAIL column

Thanks but when i was trying to add permission to my self by suing the below command, i got the below message:

gam <UserTypeEntity> add datastudiopermissions
        [([assettype report|datasource|all] [title <String>]
          [owner <Emailddress>] [includetrashed]
          [orderby title [ascending|descending]]) |
         (assetids <DataStudioAssetIDEntity)]
        (role editor|viewer <DataStudioPermissionEntity>)+
        [nodetails]

Do you know why?

Did you perform the command as the owner of the asset as found in the report command?

Hi Bassel and Ross,

There is any way to transfer the ownership of a Looker Studio report to another user?

This is the scenario:
We have users that lef the company but they don't transfer the ownership of a Looker report and then when the account is deleted/purged they lost the Looker and the information showed.

IF there is any option that we can use in this case, cloud you share us?

Hi Gaston,

If you can restore the user then you will be able to transfer ownership of the reports and data sources, but if the user is permanently deleted then the only way to do it is to rebuild the reports in a service account or ask the users that have edit access to copy the report then rebuild it and share it.

We really recommend on our side to create Lookerstudio reports by using service accounts instead of End users accounts to prevent this from happening.
