Managing Signatures (Discrepancies & Issues)

I'm trying to manage users' signatures and found the following issues:

1. There is no way to specify which email signature you want to update
   
2. There is no way to specify which signatures to use for NEW EMAILS and in REPLY/FORWARD
   
3. There is no way to control the checkbox "Insert signature before quoted..."
4. If a signature has been created earlier via the web portal, GAM doesn't see it and reports no signatures. 

Ideas?

The Gmail API is very weak; none of the items you list are accessible via the API.

you can definitely show/print an existing signature created by the web portal, so number 4 isn't true.

You are partially correct. 

#4. Email signature previously created via web portal is visible in gam ONLY if the signature is picked in "for new emails use". Otherwise, it's not visible. 

And, if you use:

gam user youruser sig file yoursignature.html html 

instead of updating an existing signature, (previously created via web portal) it creates a new one with the name "My signature", makes it default in "for new emails use" but still uses the old one in "reply/forward".

Here's one thing that troubles me. 

1. I visited user's settings via web portal, deleted all signatures (to start from scratch)

2. I pushed the signature via GAM

3. Signature is visible in GAM (show sig) as well as in the web portal 

4. gam shows   IsPrimary: True  Default: True

5. HOWEVER, it's not being selected in the web portal so when a user clicks "compose" signature is not used. 

IDEAS?
